Verifying Source Records

Understand and track the verification of data with verification badges.

After reviewing and confirming that source records are clustered to the correct entity, you can mark the source records as verified. Additionally, changes to source record clusters, including moves, merges, and creating new entities, mark the associated source records as verified in their new cluster.

When the flow runs, verified records are always clustered with the mastered entities in which they were verified, regardless of changes to the source datasets.

Entities containing at least 1 verified record have a verification badge add icon in their row. Hold your cursor over the badge to see a tooltip with the total number of verified records in that entity. Use Filter by Condition to filter to unverified records, or fully or partially verified records.

As a best practice, when you review source record clusters, verify each and every record in their respective cluster. Do this by verifying records as belonging in their clusters, or by moving records to new or existing clusters.

You can track verification actions in the activity log.

Verifying Source Records in an Entity

When you verify a source record, Tamr will always cluster the record into the mastered entity in which it was verified.

To mark a record as verified:

  1. In the entities table, select one ore more entities and then select Actions > Manage Cluster Details.
  2. Select the checkbox for each source record you want to mark as verified.
  3. Select Actions > Verify Records.

These source records are marked as pending verification in the next successful flow run.

You can also verify all source records in a cluster from the Entities page Actions menu.

Removing Verifications

Remove verification to allow Tamr to re-cluster the source record if a better match is found.

To remove verification from a source record:

  1. In the Curator entities table, select one or more entities and then select Actions > Manage Cluster Details.
  2. Select the checkbox for each source record that should no longer be marked verified.
  3. Select Actions > Remove Record Verifications.

These source records are marked as pending verification removal in the next successful flow run.
